CBI conducts searches in disproportionate assets case of CRPF officers

New Delhi, March 20
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at four places two days after an FIR was registered against the Commandant, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Lucknow, over allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
The commandant, Neeraj Pandey was found with disproportionate assets of around Rs 5.61 crores. Apart from New Delhi, searches were conducted in three places in Lucknow, Noida and Mirzapur.
During searches, investments in immovable properties in Ranchi, Varanasi and Noida were found.
The officials said that deposits in bank accounts amounting to Rs 1.02 crore was found and transactions of nearly Rs. 6.18 crore in the bank account (s) of the officer, his family members and companies controlled by them and several documents related to the acquisition of movable/immovable assets, including jewellery, purchase of shares etc. were found.
