Centre appoints new DGPs in Andaman and Nicobar, Puducherry

HGS Dhaliwal who headed the Special Cell of Delhi Police and Delhi Traffic Police most recently has been moved to Andaman and Nicobar

New Delhi, July 25

The Centre has appointed new DGP in Andaman and Nicobar police and Puducherry. 

Devesh Chandra Shrivastav who was DGP A&N has been brought back to Delhi Police. HGS Dhaliwal who headed the Special Cell of Delhi Police before being appointed as Special CP Traffic will take over as DGP A&N.

Dhaliwal, a 1997 batch IPS officer had done commendable work as the Special CP of Special Cell arresting aides of Canada based gangster Goldy Brar and was instrumental in some key arrests-Deepak Boxer from Mexico. 

Under his leadership, the Special Cell made some key arrests in Punjab singer Sidhu Moosewala's murder, busted ISI terror modules, caught a key Hizbul Mujaihideen terrorist and arrested wanted gangsters.

Special CP Crime Shalini Singh has been appointed as DGP Puducherry who will take over from B Shrinivas (J&K cadre) who was serving as the DGP Puducherry so far.
