Centre gives additional charge of DG BSF to DG SSB Daljeet Singh Chawdhary

The Centre had issued an order and repatriated the Director General of BSF Nitin Agarwal and the Special Director General of BSF, Y.B. Khurania to their parent cadres of Kerala and Odisha, respectively

New Delhi, August 5

Following the premature repatriation of former DG Border Security force Nitin Agrawal to his parent cadre, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) assigned additional charge of the post of DG (BSF) to DG (SSB) Daljit Singh Chaudhary till the appointment of a regular incumbent or untill further orders.

The Centre had issued an order and repatriated the Director General of BSF Nitin Agarwal and the Special Director General of BSF, Y.B. Khurania to their parent cadres of Kerala and Odisha, respectively reportedly due to the increase of terror cases in Jammu from June. 

According to the order copy, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the premature repatriation of Nitin Agarwal, IPS, DG, BSF, to his parent cadre with immediate effect.

In another order, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the premature repatriation of YB Khurania, IPS, Special DG BSF to his parent cadre with immediate effect. Recently, there were several reports of infiltration from the Jammu border, which is under the operational control of BSF.

The Centre approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the appointment of Amrit Mohan Prasad, IPS, as Special Director General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in Level-16 of the pay matrix from the date of joining the post and up to August 31, 2025, i.e. the date of his superannuation or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
