Delhi CP restructures Special Cell of Delhi Police

2011 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer Manoj C will supervise the Northern, Southern, and South-Western Ranges, and Addl CP Pratiksha Godara will look after the New Delhi and Trans-Yamuna Ranges and Counter Intelligence (CI) unit of the Special Cell

New Delhi, April 22

The Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora passed an order assigning ranges ans areas for the IPS officers posted at Delhi Police Special Cell. 

As per the oder dated, April 21, the 2011 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer Manoj C will supervise the Northern, Southern, and South-Western Ranges, and Addl CP Pratiksha Godara, of the same batch, will look after the New Delhi and Trans-Yamuna Ranges and Counter Intelligence (CI) unit of the Special Cell.

The Cell has another Addl CP Pramod Kushwah, a 2009 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer who has been associated with the anti-terror unit for over 10 years. Kushwah was promoted as the additional CP in January 2023.

The Special Cell, which was set up in 1986 to detect, avert, and investigate terrorism related cases and organised crime in the city, had Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli Police Service (DANIPS) level officers as DCPs. However, the then Delhi Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana appointed the three Indian Police Service officers in the Cell along with the existing DANIPs officers.
