Delhi Crime Branch busted an interstate drug cartel of Marijuana and seized over 400 kilograms.pf marijuana worth Rs. 45 lakhs of international value.
The accused were identified as Mosim (31) from Okhla, originally from Bulandshahar UP and Sabir Ali (30) from Mawana, Meerut.
The crime branch seized 445.200b kilogrmas marijuana from heir truck, which was kept in 12 bags and veiled behind bananas. The accused have been booked under Section 20, 25, 29 of the NDPS Act.
The special task force of the crime branch had been zeroing in on alleged drug cartels in the city and while working on the operation they received information about the accused. The crime branch learnt that the drug peddlers were going to come near Dera village in a truck to supply marijuana. The crime branch laid a trap near Dera village and apprehended the duo, who were sitting inside the truck.
DCP Bhisham Singh stated that during interrogation, accused Mosim disclosed that he had loaded the recovered contraband Marijuana from the jungle areas of Orissa-Andhra Pradesh border in Vishakhapattanam District of Andhra Pradesh.
The officials stated that Mosim started working as a driver. About four months bago, while he was working as a driver, he came in contact of some persons who were supplying contraband Marijuana in Delhi-NCR. He started to ferry contraband from there and then delivered to suppliers in Delhi-NCR.
Sabir Ali, in order to support his family started working as a helper on trucks and later began driving. To earn some quick money, he agreed to work with co-accused Mosim.
The crime branch is further investigating the case.
