New Delhi, January 18
The Delhi Police held an alleged member of the NCR-based Gogi gang who frequently posted photos and videos on social media with illegal firearms during a special drive launched in the wake of upcoming Assembly polls.
The accused was identified as Ujjwal Mann aka Bholu who was found with a .315 bore country-made pistol with one live cartridge meant to be delivered to another gang member.
DCP (Outer North) Nidhin Valsan stated that the police was tracking Bholu for some time, including monitoring his social media activities. The team found him frequently posting his videos and photos with illegal firearms. He was found to have been supplying weapons to other Gogi gang members under the instructions of Rohit aka Monty Maan, a henchman.
Acting on a tip-off, he was arrested from his safe house in Sector-16 of Rohini during a raid. He reportedly told police that he had obtained the weapon from one gang member on the instruction of Monty Maan. They were supposed to deliver it to another gang member as part of a plan to commit murder or threaten their targets who fail to pay up extortion money. officials added.
