Delhi Police arrests one for sending bomb hoax calls for Jama Masjid, Red Fort

The accused had stolen a man's phone in Roorkee and used the same for making a hoax call under influence of alcohol

New Delhi, April 18

The Delhi Police arrested one for sending a hoax bomb call at Red Fort and Jama Masjid .

The accused was identified as Asif, 38, who was arrested near GTB Hospital. the accused had allegedly created panic under the influence of alcohol.

The police stated that the call was made on April 10 to the Jama Masjid police station, with the caller saying explosives had been placed at the Red Fort and Jama Masjid.

The mobile number used to make the hoax call was found to be registered in the name of one Sadda, a resident of Loni Dehat, Ghaziabad. When we questioned him, he said his mobile phone had been stolen on April 6 in Roorkee.

The phone was then tracked and found to be active near GTB Hospital in Delhi.

The accused during his questioning admitted to stealing Saddam’s phone in Roorkee.
