Delhi Police arrests two who duped a senior citizens of Rs. 2 crores for a Rajya Sabha seat

One of the accused even bought a property in Bihar from that money

New Delhi, May 13

The Delhi Police has arrested two persons for allegedly duping a man of Rs 2 crore after promising to get him a Rajya Sabha seat in exchange for Rs 5 crore.

The victim identified as Narender Singh (63) filed a complainant. the accused were identified as Naveen Kumar Singh (43) and Nanak Das (48).

As per the case details, on April 25, the duo contacted him and had promised to procure him a Rajya Sabha seat through the President Quota. They demanded Rs. 5 crores. 

Naveen even sent over two forged documents alleging that they were from the President’s office, to Singh to win his trust. Singh paid him Rs 1.25 crore to Naveen and Rs 75 lakh to Das.

During questioning, Naveen revealed that he had bought some property in Bihar using his share of the money, added police.
