Delhi Police continue supplying oxygen to hospitals, aide Covid patients, attend distressed citizens

New Delhi, April 21

Delhi Police while implementing week-long lockdown are also aiding hospitals and citizens with supply of oxygen, admission in hospitals and other care facilities.

In the first case,  at about 8.57 AM a distress call through PCR made by Amarleela Hospital from Janakpuri that ogxygen has nearly finished in hospital. Local police swung into the action and found that life of 32 Covid patients is in danger and contacted a number of Oxygen cylinder suppliers and succeeded in finding the availability at Shankar Gases, Near Kalra Hospital Kirti Nagar. 

The officials said that ERV was rushed to the storage point and brought cylinders for hospital. They further assisted in arranging more oxygen cylinders from Seva Bharti Bhai Veer Singh Marg Gole Market and Saini Gas Mayapuri.Till now 11 cylinders have been arranged.Local police  is in constant touch with Hospital authority and oxygen suppliers to meet any emergency.

In the second case, another distress call was received from DM North West regarding oxygen Ttnkers meant for Jaipur Golden Hospital stuck in Haryana near Singhu Border. 

The police from Alipur police station swung into action. The police coordinated with Kundli Police in Haryana and a Green Corridor was established for quick movement of Oxygen Tanker. 

The officials added that within no time, under police escort provided the oxygen tanker was sent to Jaipur Golden Hospital and it was ensured that the oxygen truck safely reached the hospital.

In the third case, a PCR call was received wherein the caller Mrs. Kamla Parashar from Kalkaji Extension informed that she is a senior citizen and her maid was unable to come for daily chores due to COVID pandemic. Due to it, she along with her husband was facing scarcity of food. Beat officer HC Naveen immediately reached at her address and provided food and other basic commodities to the old couple and ensured that maid would come to their house daily with proper Covid protocols. 


In another case, woman PSI from South East District found a pregnant lady Pooja Pal from Jasola in distress. She left for the hospital but lost her way and reached near Apollo Hospital red light. As she was at an early stage of her pregnancy, she had grown weak and was about to be unconscious. PSI Nisha of Sarita Vihar police station was performing picket duty for the enforcement of lock down. She immediately took her to the hospital for a medical checkup and provided her with some eatables, medicines and other things at that hour of need. She accompanied the lady till she became stable. Her husband was called to the hospital and the lady was handed over to him. 

In another case, an information was received from Minu Singhal from Trinagar, Delhi that her husband Pramod Kumar (51) is Covid positive and his oxygen level faell to below 50 and they could not get admission in any hospital due to shortage of beds. 


The caller requested to arrange an oxygen cylinder for her husband as they were able to get the treatment with the help of a doctor in neighbour. SHO Adarsh Nagar, Inspector Chander Prakash alongwith HC Harpreet and Constable Mukesh immediately responded to their urgent need and arranged an oxygen cylinder from Sahibabad UP through their liasioning. 

Bharat Nagar police station Inspector Mohar Singh Meena received a call that one senior citizen namely Usha Rani (71) is found covid positive and she lives alone as her son is in Singapore. Beat Const. Harkesh was immediately deputed for admitting her in the hospital as her health condition was deteriorating. He arranged a vehicle and took her to the Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital of Bharat Nagar. 

In another case of oxygen shortage, Jangpura police was informed that there was a pressing need of oxygen cylinders at Holy Family Hospital and Jeevan Hospital for the Covid patients. Both the hospitals had limited supply of oxygen at that time. The Jangpura police arranged 10 oxygen cylinders for Holy Family Hospital and five oxygen cylinders for Jeevan Hospital respectively.
