Delhi Police seizes 787.36 kg of ganja from Outernorth Delhi

The haul of narcotics was concealed in 216 plastic bags of corn in Swaroop Nagar

New Delhi, November 4

The Delhi Police seized 787.36 kg of ganja and arrested a drug peddler while transporting the drug concealed in 216 plastic bags of corn in Swaroop Nagar.

The police stated that the operation was undertaken on November 2.  The accused have been identified as Mohammad Jabir (40). The accused was transporting the contraband in a truck near Shamshan Ghat Nala Road in Nangli Poona.

DCP, Outernorth Nidhin Valsan, said, "Jabir, during interrogation, disclosed that following instructions of Sonu of Meerut, he reached Bhawani Putnum in Odisha’s Kalahandi and met Raju, who handed him over the truck loaded with the ganja hidden under packets of corn. He was instructed to wait near Samshan Ghat, Nala Road, for further direction.

The officer further informed that the accused hails from Shergarh in Baheri of Bareilly and had previously been arrested in Andhra Pradesh in connection with another drug case.“He was later released on bail after seven-eight months of jail.
