Delhi Police sets up cyber kiosk at PHQ for cyber

NFSU, Gandhi Nagar has developed mobile/external storage cleaning machine called ‘Cyber Safety Kiosk

New Delhi, February 15

The Delhi Police in it's policy of digital revolution, accessibility, and security have set up cyber kiosk.

Delhi CP Sanjay Arora, inaugurated the kiosk at PHQ canteen for the benefit of Police personnel and visitors.

The officials said that in today’s digital age, people are connected to the internet through electronic devices. With day-to-day activities on the internet, many times various types of various and malicious applications get installed on the user’s devices and their personal information is compromised. They may even become victims of various cyber crimes. To meet upcoming challenges in view of steady rise in Cyber Crimes, it is important to ensure that the devices we use are cyber safe and secure.

Special CP (Crime) Devesh Chandra Shrivastava said, “NFSU, Gandhi Nagar has developed mobile/external storage cleaning machine called ‘Cyber Safety KioskNFSU, Gandhi Nagar has developed mobile/external storage cleaning machine called ‘Cyber Safety Kiosk’. The main goal of ‘Cyber Safety Kiosk’, is to secure the mobile phones/storages devices etc. from malicious/suspicious file /Apps, that the user might have in their devices. It will help in creating a culture of cyber safety/security among the users”.

Features of Cyber Safety Kiosk

-Malware/Virus/Backdoor detection from mobile phones and external storage devices.

-Detects the banned Applications by Government of India.

-Provides the location of malware Apps.

-It also performs Android, iPhone and window Applications Scanning and identifies malicious and infected Apps.

-It provides a consolidated report of the scanned device to the User.

-It also provides a dashboard feature to the Administrator.

-It can also work in server-client model and a repository of the malware can be built for further research.

How Does Cyber Safety Kiosk

STEP 1: User can connect to a handheld device on the Kiosk and proceed as further instruction is flashed on the screen.

 STEP 2: The User will get alert about the malware if the scanned phone is infected.

STEP 3: The User can remove the detected malware file from kiosk itself

STEP 4: - A detailed report will also be generated for the User’s reference, and it will also be forwarded on their Email ID.
