Delhi Police Southern Range organises Cybersmart Delhi at Indraprastha Univ in Okhla




New Delhi, February 25
CyberSmart Delhi, a pioneering cyber awareness initiative, was held at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Okhla, Delhi. Organized by the Delhi Police Southern Range in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) to educate citizens about cyber threats and equip them with best practices for online safety.
The event, held under the leadership of Joint CP S.K. Jain, DCP South East Ravi Singh, DCP South Ankit Chauhan
The Chief Guest for the event was Special CP L&O (Z-II) Madhup Tiwari.
Special CP Madhup Tiwari while addressing the attendees said, "In today's digital era, cyber awareness is not a choice but a necessity. Events like CyberSmart Delhi play a crucial role in educating citizens about emerging cyber threats and equipping them with the right knowledge to safeguard themselves online. A cyber-aware society is a cyber-safe society."
With the rise in cyber frauds, phishing attacks, financial scams, and misinformation, CyberSmart Delhi played a crucial role in empowering citizens with essential knowledge to protect themselves online. Authorities emphasized that awareness remains the first line of defense against cybercrimes and that initiatives like this bridge the knowledge gap between law enforcement agencies and the public.
CyberSmart Delhi featured a series of interactive and engaging activities to help citizens better understand online risks and cyber hygiene practices.
Prominent cybersecurity professionals such as RJ Raunac, Dr. Rakshit Tandon, and Amit Dubey shared valuable insights on common cyber frauds, social media scams, financial frauds, and effective online safety measures.
Nukkad Nataks (Street Plays) – Specially curated performances depicted real-life cybercrime scenarios, providing an impactful way to raise awareness about digital threats like phishing scams and identity theft
An immersive walk-through experience allowed participants to explore real-world cyber threats and learn preventive measures to ensure digital safety.
Informative videos were screened to educate participants on different forms of cyber fraud and effective preventive strategies, added officials.
The event saw a participation strength of around 500-600 attendees, reflecting strong public interest in cybersecurity awareness.
