Delhi Police Special Cell arrests main shooter in an encounter wanted in GK gym owner murder

The shooter is a part of Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gang

New Delhi, October 17

The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested the main shooter from  Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gang involved in the murder of gym owner Nadir Shah after a brief encounter on Mathura highway.

Raju was arrested in a joint operation led by Delhi Police’s Special Cell and Mathura police.

The police have identified the shooter as Yogesh aka Raju who gunned down Nadir Shah, on September 12 outside his gym in South Delhi’s Greater Kailash 1. 

The police stated that the accused was shot at his leg while trying to flee on the Delhi- Mathura highway. He was the main shooter in the case.

The police had already arrested people in the case, including shooter Madhur aka Mota Armaan who was nabbed on October 12 after an encounter in Narela area.

As per the case details, Afghan native Nadir Shah was shot dead outside his gym on the night of September 12. While eight accused Akash Yadav, Nitalesh Tiwari, Vishal Verma, Naveen Baliyan, Mohammed Sajid, Pankaj Kumar Sachin Yadav and shooter Madhur Motta were already arrested in the case, Raju had been absconding.

During the investigation, the police found that all accused stayed at a rented accommodation in Jamia Nagar for three to four weeks before the murder, and allegedly conducted a recce of the victim and a leading nightclub owner, who is a close associate of Shah’s businessman friend who moved to Dubai.

Bishnoi gang was not happy with Shah’s relationship with the businessman and had sent shooters to target him in August as well. However, the plan was dropped at the last minute, police added.
