New Delhi, June 10
Delhi rapper Aditya Tiwari aka MC Kode, who went missing since a week after hinting suicide was traced by the Delhi Police to Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.
The police had registered a missing persons report on June 4, following his mother, Deep Dhingra's complaint at Mehrauli police station. A case of kidnapping was registered the next day.
She stated that her son had uploaded a post on Instagram that hinted at suicide ideation before he went missing. After that, his phone was switched off.
A police team was constituted to find him. After sustained efforts, the 23-year-old rapper was traced to a friend's house in Jabalpur by the police team.
A week before he went missing, an old rap battle video of his from six years ago surfaced on the internet. He was abused and severely trolled online for allegedly disrespecting a religion through the lyrics in the old video. The family claimed that he even received death threats on social media.
The rapper apologised for the video but the threats and hate continued.
After that, he posted a story on Instagram which read, “The constant suffering and trials and tribulations of life have made me weak. Currently standing at an isolated bridge overlooking the Yamuna I do not blame anyone for anything but myself. A relief from my own existence is gonna serve as a punishment that the entire country wanted.”
His family and friends frantically began to look for him at all locations near the Yamuna river but was untraceable.
The police finally traced him at Jabalpur.
