DJB tanker kills a manin CR Park of Delhi

The arrested accused driver, Mukesh, was working for a contractor who runs his tankers for the DJB

New Delhi, November 4

A 40-year-old man was mowed down allegedly by a speeding Delhi Jal Board (DJB) tanker while he was crossing the road in front of Alaknanda market at C R Park. The driver of the tanker was arrested.

The deceased was identified as Mukunda Hazra, a car cleaner and a resident of Govindpuri. The police said that the driver, Mukesh, was working for a contractor who runs his tankers for the DJB.

The police stated that around 7.30 am on November 2, he was crossing the road when the tanker hit him… His son had died two years ago on November 12. His wife works as a cook in the same area. 

Residents of all pockets of Gangotri Enclave Colony organised a blockade in protest against the accident. The police deployed traffic policemen at the spot. 

The traffic police have been requested to install cameras at the signal.
