New Delhi, November 13
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at 17 locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal in connection with illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi citizens into India with help of agents who provide fake documents to establish Indian citizenship.
The raids have been conducted based on a June 4 FIR registered in Ranchi after a woman allegedly entered India by crossing the border with Bangladesh, in connivance with private agents.
The ED seized various incriminating items, including fake Aadhaars, forged passports, illegal arms, immovable property documents, cash, jewellery, printing papers, printing machines, and blank proformas used for forging Aadhaar cards.
