Fake ED officers rob a trader in Dwarka of Rs. 3.2 crores, two accused held from Delhi

New Delhi, October 16
The Delhi Police busted a gang of robbers who posed as Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and robbed a businessman in Dwarka of more than Rs 3 crore.
The accused first abducted the trader, who was roaming around in his locality, in their car and, claiming to be officers from the ED. They threatened him to show the “hawala money” at his home.
The fake raid resulted in recovery of a huge amount of cash, which the victim had apparently collected following a land deal. The gang fled with the money. The accused then asked the victims to come for questioning later.
The victims rather called the police who set out to search the accused in Mitraon Village, Dwarka.
The fake ED officer rather the accused was identified as one Vicky (37) who tried to fire at police to evade the arrsted however got arrested and another accused Amit from whom police recovered Rs. 30 lakhs.
The police recovered Rs 70 lakh from the possession of Amit, who is a history sheeter currently out on bail.
The police have recovered more than Rs 1 crore of robbed money. A total of Rs 3.2 crore in cash and mobile phones of the complainant and his mother were robbed.
The police are conducting futher raids in Delhi, Haryana and UP.
