Five UPSC students and one person injured as speeding car hits them in Old Rajindernagar

New Delhi, April 9
A speeding car rammed into five students preparing for the UPSC examinations and one another person in Old Rajinder Nagar in Central Delhi.
Those injured have been identified as Lokesh, Baby, Shivam, Harshita, Stephen, and Vipul, who are in the age group of 24 to 30 years.
DCP (Central) Harsh Vardhan said, “The condition of the injured is stable. Five out of the six injured are likely to be discharged soon, while one of the injured may require further treatment".
The students present at the spot told the police that the Hyundai i10 first hit a scooter before accelerating and ramming into the pedestrians walking on the roadside. Eyewitnesses also reported that the car was moving at a very high speed, and the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Thr medical examination of the driver was in process at the time of filing this report, and his blood sample was collected for further testing, officials said.
The police added that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the results of the medical tests and further inquiry.
