Five VHP activists held in Mangaluru for throwing stones at a mosque

The police said that the attack occurred on the eve of the Eid-e-Milad festival in night hours

The Mangaluru police arrested five persons affiliated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for allegedly throwing stones at the Badriya Mosque in Katipalla in Karnataka.

The police said that the attack occurred on the eve of the Eid-e-Milad festival in night hours. Four miscreants on two bikes threw stones at the mosque, shattering its windows and creating commotion in the area. 

The local residents gathered and called police demanding action. 

The police immediately identified the accused and arrested them. More forces were deployed to ensure the situation is peaceful and under control. 

The police are probing the motive behind the incident in their further investigation.
