Gautam Gambhir received another threat email with the CCTV footage outside his house

New Delhi, November 25

The BJP MP and former cricketer allegedly received a second death threat from 'ISIS Kashmir' hours after security was beefed up outside his house in Rajendra Nagar area of Delhi. 

The second email has reportedly been sent from isiskashmir@gmail.com. The email reportedly mentioned that "We intended to kill you, but you survived yesterday. If you love the life of your family, stay away from politics and the Kashmir issue"

As per the reports, Gambhir received the second death threat along with a video containing footage from outside his residence.

Only a few hours prior to this, Gambhir’s PA Gaurav Arora had filed a complaint with the cybercell regarding the first email threat mail from ‘ISIS Kashmir’ alleging to kill him and his family. 

In a letter to the deputy police commissioner (central) Shweta Chauhan, the MP said he received a threat mail, which read, “We’re going to kill you and your family.” He also urged police to register a First Information Report on the matter apart from providing him enhanced security.

On receiving the complaint, the district police had increased (Gambhir’s) personal security as well as the security of his residence in Rajendra Nagar area. 

The police had taken the complaint into account and began probing however within a few hours, he received another email sending threats. 

The police stated that with the investigation already on, the police have sped up the investigations.
