Ghaziabad Police guns down second accused in phone snatching robbery that killed engineering girl student

The Ghaziabad Police gunned down the second accused in the phone snatching incident that led to the murder of a young engineering girl student in Ghaziabad few days ago. While one accused was held after a gun fight, second one was killed in the encounter. 

The police identified the accused as Jitendra alias Jeetu, a resident of Mishal Garhi in Ghaziabad, The Ghaziabad police team had zeroed in on Jeetu and went to arrest him however, he in an attempt to flee opened fire at police. 

The police added that they were conducting a check along the Ganganahar track when they saw two people riding a motorcycle coming from the front. When the police team tried to stop them, they started running away and fired at the police. One of the sub-inspectors got injured in this firing. The police fired back in retlaiation and the bullet hit Jeetu. 

Jeetu was a historysheeter with 12 cases registered against him in the past. He was also booked under the Gangster Act and a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on his head after the phone snatching incident. 

As per the case details, deceased Kirti Singh, a 19-year-old engineering student, fell from an auto while resisting a phone-snatching bid by two men on a bike. She had barely got admission in Bech Computer Science student at ABES Engineering College in Ghaziabad. The girl received a major head inujury and died after fighting for her life on ventilator support.
