Haryana police arrest 20 men who performed stunts in Siliserh Lake, a wildlife sanctuary

New Delhi, July 18

Twenty young men were arrested in Alwar after engaging in a dangerous vehicle stunt by driving bikes and cars in Siliserh Lake, a wildlife sanctuary known to house over 300 crocodiles. 

A video went viral on media that shows several young men driving bikes and an SUV in the water. The police took cognizance of the video and initiated action. 

The police identified the accused as Gurumel Singh (28), Yogesh (23), Krishna (23), Puneet (19), Sachin (27), Shivcharan (29), all residents of Sorkha Kala village and Uday (18) from Baroda. The police arrested 13 other men next day. 

The police warned that those attempting such stunts near tourist places like Siliserh Lake and Natni Ka Bara would be booked under stringent laws and strict action would be taken against them. 

After the incident the police have deployed more personnel at these spots. Unauthorised roads leading to the lake have also been closed by officials.
