Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kundu proceeds on leave, DGP SR Ojha given additional charge

New Delhi, March 12

Himachal Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu proceeded on a long leave till March 25. 

The state government has given additional charge of DGP to 1989 batch IPS officer Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha, who is DG Prisons in Himachal Pradesh Police. 

Sanjeev Ranjan Ojha will oversee the responsibilities of the DGP till the return of Kundu. 

The notification issued by the Himachal Pradesh government stated that Kundu is proceeding on a 17 day earned leave from March 11 to March 23 with permission to include March 9, 10, 24 and also 25.

The charge of DGP for Ojha comes at a critical time when Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a political turmoil with PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh resigning and some upheaval in the Congress led government.
