Indian origin motel manager killed in Oklahoma city

The accused Lewis reportedly punched Hemant Mistry after the former had asked him to leave the property.

New Delhi, June 26

An elderly Indian-American man died in Oklahoma after another man punched him in the face. 

The victim, identified as Hemant Mistry (59), who ran a motel at near Interstate 40 and Meridian Avenue. and hailed from Gujarat. The accused was identified as Richard Lewis (41), 

Lewis reportedly punched Mistry after the former had asked him to leave the property. After the incident, Mistry fell unconscious after he was punched. He was taken to a hospital, where he died later on June 23.

The Oklahoma city police then found Lewis at a hotel in the 1900 block of S Meridian Avenue and arrested.

The media reported that Lewis was held on a $100,000 bond at the Oklahoma County jail on an aggravated assault and battery complaint.
