JAN SAMPARK VAHAN OF DELHI POLICE MADE GIRLS LEARN SELF DEFENCE, SENIOR CITIZENS AIDE POLICE, CHILDREN LEARN RULES & REGULATIONS

With the ongoing Delhi Police Week celebrations starting with the Delhi Police Raising that was observed on February 16, the Delhi Police launched nine techno modified Jan Sampark Vahan.

The Jan Sampark Vahan was flagged off by Minister of State for home G Kishan Reddy in the presence of Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava. 

This specially designed vehicle with audio and visual facilities was rolled out to make people aware about the various services, mobile applications, helpline numbers and other facilities provided by Delhi Police for citizens of Delhi. 

Three such vehicles have been on the move in Western, South & Central to cover various colonies/residential areas and other prominent locations. 

According to the officials, each of these vehicles is fitted with a big LED screen that displays Delhi Police Heritage, good works done by Delhi Police during Covid-19 pandemic & lockdown and various online services/facilities available for public.  A techno-savvy community policing Liaison Police Officer and a lady Public Facilitation Officer (PFO) are aboard the Vahan to interact with the public and disseminate information about various community policing and citizen centric schemes of Delhi Police such as Tatpar, Himmat Plus & Senior Citizen Apps, Shishtachar, Naazuk, Shashakti, Eye & Ears, Traffic Sentinel, Prahari, Police Mitra, Nigehbaan, Nirbheek, Pehchan, YUVA & Neighbourhood Watch Schemes, ERSS-112 & various other Helpline Nos. 

In last one week, these vehicles have covered most of the prominent areas like iconic places, malls, universities/colleges, main markets and other high footfall area, main traffic squares, markets, schools, major parks, bus stands, entrances/exists of Metro Stations, unauthorized/re-settlement colonies etc. 

The officials stated rhat in these visits Delhi Police conducted various live interactive sessions; social, health and cyber issues were explained by experts in respective fields and awareness about women safety & security, gender sensitization, ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ etc. was spread through folk dance performances and Nukkad Naataks. 

Taking a step ahead in buikding bond with the locals, birthday celebrations of senior citizens were celebrated. Various programmes were organised magic shows to laughter shows, folk dances to competition for children. 

To enhance public participation, live display of police bands, dog squads as well as self-defence techniques by Shashakti team were organized.  

Many renowned personalities like Samresh Jung &  Anuja Jung (Internationally acclaimed Shooters), Surender Sharma (renowned Poet) also graced the programmes with their presence and performance. 

These vehicles covered 6000 kmsa nd spent 900 hours with the citizens. 

1160 girls got enrolled for Sashakti programme during the journey of the Vahans. More than 50,000 persons participated in various programmes and made the Jan Sampark Vahans a success. 

The Delhi Police apps were downloaded by about 8141 visitors. Further, on spot filling of Tenant/ servant Verification Forms was also taken up and about 4714 forms were got filled during this Jan Sampark Abhiyan. Moreover, 633 Senior Citizens were also got registered with Delhi Police during the programme, the officials added.
