J&K Police, Delhi Crime Branch arrest three members of 'Khauf gang' from Delhi

The accused allegedly gunned down Sumit Jandyal, a member of the rival Gitaru gang in Jammu

New Delhi, February 3

In a joint operation between Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and Jammu and Kashmir Police, three key members of the Jammu-based ‘Khauf’ gang. 

The police identified the accused as Harsh Singh, Arun Kumar, and Abhay Singh. The accused were nabbed from ISBT Kashmere Gate  

The accused allegedly gunned down Sumit Jandyal, a member of the rival Gitaru gang in Jammu, police said.

As per the case details, on January 21, the three accused allegedly fired at Jandyal when he was driving. Jandyal later succumbed to his injuries and a case of murder was registered at Nawabad police station. The police had intel that the accused had fled to Delhi and a team under ACP Pankaj Arora, Crime Branch, was constituted to nab the accused.

The three were trying to flee to Nepal. Two more persons, Raj and Ajay, were also found accompanying them and aiding trm to flee, police added. 

The crime branch informed that accused Abhay and Harsh allegedly shot at Jandyal while Arun aided the planning process. Abhay has cases registered against him under the NDPS Act while Harsh also has multiple cases filed against him, including under the Arms Act.
