J&K police held journalist Adil Farooq allegedly with live grenades

New Delhi, August 11

The J&K Police held journalist Adil Farooq from Kashmir for allegedly association with terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohmmad (JeM) in Kashmir. 

Adil is working as a sub-editor with CNS News Agency in Press Enclave in Kashmir. 

The police have also recovered two grandes from him. His associate, Zahid Nazar who was also present with him reportedly fled form the spot.

The arrest had come just hours after a horrific grenade attack at Hari Singh High Street near Srinagar’s Lal Chowk, leaving ten civilians injured.

The police stated that Adil has been associated with J&K since long. Adil was held in 2019 for his providing logistical support to Islamic terrorists.

His associate Zahid had recently come out of jail. He was arrested for his alleged involvement in an explosives related case of Khrew police station.  

Adil Farooq, who was then a journalism student at the Central University of Kashmir, was booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu for working as overground worker of terrorists.


The police are further investigating the case.
