Kabaddi Player Sandeep Nangal Murder- Jalandhar Police zero in on Canada based Snover Dhillon as main conspirator

New Delhi, March 22

The International Kabaddi Player  Sandeep Nangal Ambian was allegedly shot dead during an ongoing Kabaddi match in Jalandhar. Canada based Snover Dhillon who runs the Ntional Kabaddi Federation in Ontario is allegedly behind the conspiracy to kill Sandeep. 

Sandeep was shot dead during a Kabaddi match in Mallian village of Jalandhar. The doctors extracted five bullets from his body while one bullet had hit his head. 

The police said the Snover Dhillon had professional rivalry with Sandeep. Dhillon is also coordinator and assistant for Patrick Brown, who is currently mayor of Brampton belonging to conservative party of Canada, Snover Dhillon has a criminal record in Canada and has already been convicted of fraud.

Dhillon’s name came to the fore after the police arrested four gangsters- infamous Simranjeet Singh alias Jhujhar Singh of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh, Fateh Singh alias Yuvraj from Sangrur, Kaushal Chaudhary and Amit Dagar from Haryana. 

DGP Punjab VK Bhawra stated that Snover Dhillon had convinced many players from Punjab to join the National Kabaddi Federation but most of them were associated with ‘Major League Kabaddi’ owned by Sandeep. 

Sandeep was cremated at his native Nangal Ambian village with hundreds of people paying their last respect to him. 

During the interrogation of the four historysheeters, Fateh confessed to police that the instructions to kill Sandeep were given by Canada based Dhillon and the later alongwith Dagar, Chaudhary, Jagjit Singh, Lucky Patiyala and Sukha Duneke arranged for the shooters. 

Before cremation, his body was first taken to the ground of his amla matar, a government school in his native village Nangal Ambian, where Sandeep had first started playing Kabaddi.

The Jalandhar police said that Dhillon currently lives in Brampton, Ontario in Canada and is producer and director at Canada Sath TV and radio show. 

The police have also booked Sukha Duneke who is also based in Canada and Jagjit Singh now residing in Malaysia. 

The cremation was attended by a large number of grieving fans and people from the Kabaddi world. 

A large procession followed the hearse carrying Ambian’s mortal remains. A large poster bearing a photograph of the athlete along with the slogan ‘Kabaddi Lai Paida Hoye see, kabaddi Lai Shaeed Hoye Han’ (born for Kabaddi and died for Kabaddi) was seen on the hearse vehicle.His body was kept in the school ground for the public to pay their respects.

Sandeep is survived by his wife, two toddlers sons and parents.
