Kananda actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his wife Pavithra Gowda held in murder

The deceased Renuka Swamy (33) worked at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga and had allegedly sent derogatory messages to Darshan's wife

New Delhi, June 12

Popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his wife, Pavithra Gowda, were arrested for their alleged role in the murder of a man in Bengaluru. The police have arrested 10 other persons too in the case. 

The victim identified as Renuka Swamy (33), was found dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. He worked at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga and had allegedly sent derogatory messages to Darshan's wife.

The Bengaluru police stated that the probe after the first three arrests in the cae showed that the actor was directly involved in the murder or was part of the conspiracy. The accused had confessed to the murder and said they committed the crime allegedly on the instructions of actor Darshan.

Swamy's parents had filed a missing complaint but were asked to wait for two days. (it was only a day since he went missing). The murder was reported on June 9, after which a case was registered.

Darshan is one of the most celebrated actors in the Kannada film industry. He is also a producer and distributor of Sandalwood. After beginning his career in television, he transitioned to the big screen.
