Karnataka police arrests BJP leader Deveraje Gowda under SC/ST Act

Karnataka Police arrested BJP leader G Devaraje Gowda in connection with a SC/ST atrocity case filed by a couple.
The woman, who filed the SC/ST atrocity case in March this year, has also filed a sexual harassment case on April 1. The BJP leader is alleged to have offered help to the woman and her partner in getting funds to build a house on a property in Hassan but later cheated the couple.
Devaraje Gowda who is currently being probed over his involvement in the Prajwal Revanna “sex abuse” row. He had lost the 2023 Assembly polls in Holenarasipura, Hassan, to the JDS candidate H D Revanna.
In January this year, Gowda had threatened to release sex videos of H D Revanna’s son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. The videos, however, were leaked in April ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
The Special Investigation Team probing the Prajwal Revanna sex tapes case has already questioned Gowda, however, has claimed that the tapes were not leaked by him but by Karthik N, a former driver for Prajwal.
