Wife dies by suicide after husband's suicide over a fight

New Delhi, January 13

A 30-year-old man allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Ghaziabad after his wife left home following a heated exchange. Tragically, the wife, too, reportedly also died by suicide after she learnt about husband's death. 

The police were alerted about the woman’s death after a crowd spotted her body on the road. A mobile phone was discovered in her pocket. 

The police stated that while they were trying to identifying the woman, the cellphone rang and a family member identified the deceased as Shivani (30).

The relative also told the police that her husband Vijay Pratap Chauhan (30) has also died by suicide at their Ghaziabad home.

The police added that the couple had a huge fight, which escalated into violence.  The husband apparently called his sister-in-law and told her he couldn’t bear it any longer. He asked her to take his wife away.

Following this, Shivani stormed out of the house and called her brother once she reached Saboli Fatak. The brother asked her to wait for him to get her. Meanwhile, Vijay called Shivani, threatening to die by suicide, police added. 

After reaching the spot, the police team found that the neighbours had already laid Chauhan’s body on the ground in an attempt to revive him. Meanwhile wen his family began calling Shivani, she had allegedly hanged herself.
