New Delhi, November 4

In a sudden attack, Maoists attacked two policemen on bandobast duty in Chhattisghar’s Sukma district on and looted their weapons.

The police stated that the two policemen were part of a group of around 20 on bandobast duty.

The police said that the incident took place in morning hours in a weekly market area in Jagargunda.

The police explained that the two were walking some distance away from the others when a small action team (of Maoists) attacked them. When they fell down, the Maoists looted their weapons and fled from the spot. There were about four-five Maoists, and they were on foot.

One of them is out of danger and another, who suffered an injury on his neck, is in a serious condition. He has been moved to a hospital in Dantewada and will be further moved to Raipur for better treatment.

In a similar incident, a CAF jawan was murdered by Maoists in a market in neighbouring Bijapur district in February this year. In June, a constable was murdered at a fun fair in Sukma district.
