The Ministry of Home Affairs reshuffle 11 IPS officers in Delhi Police ahead of the assembly polls scheduled in February.
DCP Abhishek Dhania from DCP North-West district to DCP East district, Apporva Gupta from DCP East district to DCP Crime, Bhisham Singh from DCP Crime to DCP North West district, Rakesh Paweria from DCP North-East district to DCP headquarters, Ashish Kumar Mishra from DCP Central district to North-East district.
Interestingly the ministry had passed a transfer order of DANIPS officer Manishi Chandra, OSD to Delhi CP Sanjay Arora abruptly on December 13. The 2004 batch officer was suddenly transferred to Mizoram. However, after two weeks of speculation and rumours, his transfer order was cancelled by MHA.
The sources claimed that Chandra's transfer was ordered by MHA that was certain on its decision while transferring other four IPS officers from Delhi Police ahead of the polls. However, it was claimed to media that the order was put on hold till elections get over. However, the ministry had transferred him out of Delhi keeping elections in mind.
B L Suresh (2001 batch) has been transferred from Delhi and posted to Arunachal Pradesh where his leadership is anticipated to fortify police operations in the region. Rajneesh Garg (2002 batch) has been moved from Delhi to Ladakh, an area of strategic importance. Dr. G Ram Gopal Naik (2002 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh and Hareesh HP (2003 batch) has been transferred from Delhi and sent to Jammu & Kashmir.
