Newly wed woman gagnraped in Rewa of MP, eight held

The newly married couple had gone for a picnic at the spot where accused were partying

New Delhi, October 25

The Madhya Pradesh Police arrested eight persons in connection with the alleged gangrape of a newly-wed woman at a picnic spot in Rewa district.

The alleged incident took place on October 21. All the accused are in the age group of 20-25 years.

The police stated that the couple had travelled to the spot on a motorcycle on October 21. The accused persons were taking a bath, making food and partying and found in an intoxicated state.

One of the accused had fled to Raipur in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, and he was arrested from there.

The police have booked all the accused for gangrape.
