New Delhi, January 17
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) chargesheeted third accused in case pertaining to recovery of AK-47 from cadres of CPI (Maoist) in forest area of Bairiyakala village.
In the supplementary chargesheet filed before the NIA Special Court, Patna, top CPI(M) leader Pramod Mishra has been charged u/s 120B & 121A of IPC and u/s 16, 17, 18, 20, 38 39 & 40 of UA (P) Act, 1967.
NIA took over the investigation of the case and had earlier, in October 2023, chargesheeted two accused namely Ram Babu Ram and Ram Babu Paswan.
During the course of further Investigation, it was established that the accused Pramod Mishra alias Sohan Da a senior leader of the proscribed terrorist organization, CPI (Maoist) was propagating ideology of the CPI (Maoist) and organising arms and ammunition for them.
On the directions of accused Pramod Mishra, both chargesheeted accused persons Ram Babu Ram were raising funds for the proscribed terrorist organization CPI(Maoist), to be used for carrying out anti-national activities. He was also involved in motivating Ex-Naxal cadres to re-join the proscribed terrorist organization CPI (Maoist) and was also involved in various activities of the CPI (Maoist), with an intention to strike terror in common masses and to threaten the unity, integrity, security and sovereignty of India, officials further stated.
