NIA conducts searches in Chhattisgarh in CPI (Maoist)-led IED attack case

The NIA teams conducted extensive searches at the premises of six suspects in the Naxal-infested area of village Badegobra in Gariyaband district

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched multiple locations in Chhattisgarh in connection with the CPI (Maoist)-led IED attack on a poll party convoy during the 2023 Assembly elections.
 

The NIA teams conducted extensive searches at the premises of six suspects in the Naxal-infested area of
village Badegobra in Gariyaband district.

The officials stated that sveral mobile phones and Rs. 2.98 lakhs in cash were seized during the searches from the premises of suspects believed to be working as overground workers (OGWs)/supporters of the Mainpur-Nuapada division of the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit.
 

A head constable of Indo-Tibetan Battalion Police (ITBP) ADHOC 615 Battalion was injured in the
attack that took place in November 2023.

The NIA, which had taken over the case in February 2024, had identified the CPI (Maoist) cadres as the perpetrators of the attack
