NTK leader C Balasubramanian hacked to death in Madurai, six held

C Balasubramanian (50) was attacked by a group of assailants in a property dispute

New Delhi, July 17

Deputy Secretary of Naam Tamilar Katchi’s (NTK) Madurai in Tamil Nadu was brutally hacked to death. The Madurai Police have arrested four of the six people involved in the murder. 

C Balasubramanian (50) was attacked by a group of assailants on July 16 in Madurai North. 

The police stated that a preliminary investigation revealed that a property dispute between two groups led to Balasubramanian’s death.Balasubramanian's brother, Pandiyarajan, was involved in a property dispute with one Mahalingam. Pandiyarajan was the son-in-law of Mahalingam's brother.

Pandiyarajan proposed a marriage between his daughter, Priya, and Mahalingam’s son, Alaguvijay. However, misunderstandings between the newlyweds led Priya to file for divorce. The issue began with Priya's share of the land. Pandiyarajan filed a complaint against Mahalingam and his relatives, leading to their arrest.

Amid the family unrest, Priya informed her husband that her family was planning an attack. Mahalingam, and his men planned a counter attack before they could be attacked and killed Balasubramanium.
