Prajwal Revanna Sexual Abuse Case- Police search homes of people suspected for leaking videos

The raids were carried out at 18 locations in Hassan district, including Belur, Sakleshpur and Channarayapatna

New Delhi, May 16

The Karnataka police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing sexual assault allegations against Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, raided BJP and Congress workers accused of leaking his sex abuse videos. 

The raids took place in Hassan and Bengaluru for two days. The raids were carried out at 18 locations in Hassan district, including Belur, Sakleshpur and Channarayapatna. 

The officials raided the homes of BJP workers Sharath, Puneeth and H P Kiran and Congress workers Puttaraju and Naveen Gowda. They also searched the home of Prajwal Revanna’s former driver Karthik, who is accused of handing over the videos to the MP’s political opponents.

In Bengaluru, raids were carried out at the home of Sharath, proprietor of a bar in Hassan and considered close to BJP general secretary and former Hassan MP Preetham Gowda, officials said. 

The SIT has arrested two BJP workers, Likith Gowda and Yalagunda Chetan, for leaking the videos. The arrests were based on a complaint lodged by JD(S) worker Poornachandra Tejaswi. 

Meanwhile, a group of eminent citizens have written to the Karnataka government seeking an investigation of all members of Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna’s family for allegedly allowing his sexually perverse act” to continue despite their knowledge about them.

The letter by authors and activists was addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Home Minister G Parameshwara stated that the government would look into their demands.
