Punjab and UP Police neutralize three Khalistani operatives in an encounter in UP

Gurwinder Singh, Virendra Singh and Jasanpreet Singh, belonged to a banned organisation named Khalistan Commando Force

New Delhi, December 23

in a joint encounter with Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police, three Khalistani terrorists, accused of attacking a police post in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, were killed in an encounter with police in Pilibhit district of UP. 

The accused were identified as Gurwinder Singh, Virendra Singh and Jasanpreet Singh, belonged to a banned organisation named Khalistan Commando Force.

The police also seized two AK-47 rifles, two pistols, and several live rounds from their custody.

Acting on the information of Punjab Police about the presence of the three accused in Piiibhit, joint teams launched a crackdown. 

The police informed that when they reached to carry out the operations, the accused fired at the police team on being challenged and in the retaliatory firing, they were killed. 

Earlier on Friday, another explosion allegedly occurred at the abandoned police post in Kalanaur sub-division of Gurdaspur district. The attack that took place amid heightened police vigil, however, did not cause any damage to life or property.
