Punjab minister chased, shots fired at his car in Ferozepur of Punjab

Punjab Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira claimed that had earlier received threats from gangster Arsh Dalla and the Davinder Bambiha group as well

New Delhi, February 6

Punjab Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira lodged a complaint saying that some unidentified people had tailed his car and fired six shots at it while he was returning to his house in Zira in Ferozepur district of Punjab. 

The FIR was lodged against unknown persons on charges of reckless and negligent acts endangering the safety of others under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act, the police said.

Zira, 44, is the president of the Ferozepur district Congress committee. told police that unknown persons chased his car for over 4 kms and fired six rounds at his vehicle. Zira was returning home after attending a Kabaddi tournament function at Bootanwali village along with his personal assistant Akashdeep Rubal, Congress leader Dr Rashpal, and gunman Karnail Singh. While Zira was seated in the passenger seat, Rubal and Singh were seated in the back seat. 

He had a stopover at the house of Nambardar Amrik Singh in village Armanpur. When he restarted, his driver informed that some vehicle was following them. They stopped in Sher Khan village and the vehicle following us also stopped. When the driver increased the speed of the vehicle and the following vehicle too increased its speed and fired two rounds at the vehicle which got misfired.The vehicle following us lost balance but continued following us and fired four more rounds and missed the target, as per his complaint to police. 

He claimed that he had earlier received threats from gangster Arsh Dalla and the Bambiha group as well.
