Road Rage Incident- Delhi woman killed by a rider in Jyoti Nagar area

The couple had an argument with a motorcycle rider under the Gokulpuri flyover who pulled a trigger on the them

New Delhi, August 2

In an incident of road rage in Jyoti Nagar area of Delhi, a young girl was shot dead by a scooter rider in after a vehicle collision led to an argument.

The victim was identified as Simranjeet Kaur, who was on her way to a bank in Jyoti Nagar area with her husband, Heera Singh, on a motorcycle.

The police stated that the incident took place on August 1 in broad daylight in afternoon hours. 

When the couple reached under the Gokulpuri flyover, a scooter rider collided with their motorcycle. This led to an altercation between Heera Singh and the scooter rider.

The verbal exchange escalated, and the scooter rider pulled out a pistol and fired at Heera from a distance of about 30–35 feet. The bullet, however, struck Simranjeet Kaur in the chest.

She was rushed to a nearby GTB Hospital where she was declared brought dead by doctors.

The police have registered a murder case and are scanning the CCTV footage in the area to identify the assailant, who fled the scene immediately after shooting Simranjeet.
