New Delhi, May 20

The Delhi Police have arrested Bibhav Kumar for allegedly assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwal inside Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's house in the national capital.

As series of videos emerged on the Internet containing CCTv footage of  Swati Maliwal sitting inside the CM's residence and allegedly misbehaving with the security personnel of CM, another video showed how she was being asked to go from CM's residence where a woman security personnel was seen escorting her out of the residence where she was seen walking perfectly fine with no bruises or injuries on her body.

Swati Maliwal has accused Bibhav Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant, of repeatedly slapping her and kicking her in the stomach and pelvic area.

The Delhi Police meanwhile collected the CCTV footage from Kejriwal's residence on May 19 evening. The police had earlier claimed that the footage collected first time was blank there was nothing it. Maliwal had taken to social media and alleged that the CM and his staff had 'deleted" the CCTV footage to sabotage the investigation.

The Delhi police team was seen carrying an evidence box and leaving the CM's residence where it is expected that the police have now collected all the footage from the spot.

Not only Maliwal filed a case against Bibhav Kumar but Kumar also filed a cross FIR against her. The complaint stated that “Swati Maliwal forcefully and unauthorizedly entered the Chief Minister's residence. Not only did she breach the security of CM Residence, create a ruckus and assault the complainant; she is now trying to falsely implicate the undersigned complainant so as to create undue pressure on him".

Since Maliwal's “false statements and malafide actions are creating an incorrect narrative" regarding what transpired, Kumar stated “the correct facts" in the complaint to SHO Civil Lines.

Kumar said Maliwal came to the Chief Minister's residence and sought permission to enter. The security officer present at the main entry of the CM Residence inquired about her identity. After her identity was ascertined, the MP told the security officers to clear her path and allow her to enter as she had an appointment with the Chief Minister.

“The said security officer requested her to wait till he got the details of her appointment verified. Upon verification the said security officer informed her that there was no such appointment on record and therefore he could not allow her to enter," the complaint read. Kumar added that Maliwal “forcefully entered the CM Residence despite the objections of the staff".

“So not only did she make false claims of having an appointment so as to gain entry into the CM Residence, she forcefully and illegally trespassed into the premises despite the repeated objections of the security and CM office staffs," he said.

Kumar said that the MP started shouting and abusing the CM office staff when she was asked to wait outside the main building of the CM Residence.

“At around 9:00 am on May 13, despite strong objections of the CM office staff, she stormed out of the waiting area and entered the main building of CM Residence, where the CM resides."

The Delhi Police have now charged Bibhav Kumar also for destruction of evidence besides grave charges of assault, criminal intimidation, molestation and outraging modesty of a woman under sections of Indian Penal Code.

The Delhi Police also recreated the crime scene of the incident that occurred on May 13.

Swati Maliwal also reached the CM's residence and explained the sequence of events on when and at what time she entered the house, what happened, who was there, and other details. The forensic team was also present after the recreation, the Delhi Police took more evidences from the spot.
