Two teenagers' dead on railway track of Shahdara while shooting for Instagram reels

New Delhi, February 24

Two students who were making reels for Instagram in Shahdara area of Delhi. 

The victims have been identified as Vansh Sharma (23), a B.Tech student from a private college, and Monu (20), a BA student from Delhi University’s School of Open Learning.

The police said that the incident took place near Kranti Nagar flyover railway lines. Investigation revealed that Vansh had two profiles on Instagram where he claimed to be a “creator and a politician”. Monu also had two social media accounts.

The officials stated that a PCR call was made in the evening and their bodies were found by railway police personnel and sent to a hospital. 

The railway police have begun an enquiry in which it came to the fore that the deceased would often come to railway tracks and shot reels and videos.

According to police, they posted reels around the railway tracks which featured them jumping from the train and running around tracks while trains were passing. The police said they would also enact movie scenes and dialogues for their videos. Monu also uploaded reels where of him riding bikes and dancing.

The police have initiated inquest proceedings.
