UPSC aspirant dies of electrocution in Delhi after coming in contact with electrified building gate

New Delhi, July 24

A young UPSC aspirant died due to electrocution  in Patelnagar area of West Delhi. 

The victim was identified as Nilesh Rai (26) who was preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination and staying as a paying guest in the area. 

The police stated stated that Ranjit Nagar Police Station received infromation that a person was stuck to an iron gate due to an electric current. When police and other authorities reached the spot, they found a man electrocuted, with the iron gate being live with current. The road in the area was also waterlogged, adding to the hazardous conditions.

The forensic team was called in to determine how the gate got electrified. 

The victim was immediately taken to RML Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The police have registered an FIR has been registered at PS Ranjit Nagar under sections 106(1) (death due to negligence) and 285 (Danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
