West Bengal STF busts drug haul, seizes 100 kgs of cannabis

The cannabis was being smuggled from Odisha to the Sankrail area of Howrah and the Bongaon area of North 24 Parganas : West Bengal STF

New Delhi, May 17

West Bengal’s special task force (STF) has busted an interstate narco-drug smuggling racket and recovered 100 kg of cannabis, worth Rs 10 lakhs. 

The STF also arrested two individuals, identified as Akram Hosen Mondal (28) and Samar Mistri (35).

Acting on an intel, the STF stopped a Swift Dezire car on National Highway no 6 in Howrah, upon checking they found approximately 100 kg of cannabis from the boot space.

The primary probe in the case revealed that 100 kg of cannabis was being smuggled from Odisha to the Sankrail area of Howrah and the Bongaon area of North 24 Parganas respectively.

The accused have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
