BSF rescues 14 cattle, banned medicines at Indo Bangladesh border in two operations

Besides cattle, 620 bottles codeine based cough syrups, 1997 Buprenorphine injection were seized from border areas : BSF

New Delhi, January 24

 

The Border Security Force (BSF) rescued 14 cattles from the clutches of the Bangladeshi smugglers. 

The BSF stated that they were intercepted while taking away cattles to Bangladesh after violating International border in Jalpaiguri and Uttar  Dinajpur districts of West Bengal. On being challenged, they left cattle  and ran away towards Bangladesh. 

The BSF also seized 620 bottles codeine based cough syrups, 1997 Buprenorphine injection from border areas, these items were seized from various spots in border area of districts Dakshin Dinajpur and Uttar Dinajpur  

The smugglers left their Potlas when challenged by BSF Jawans , they fled away towards either side of Border Fence, officials said. 

In the  general area of Phansideva, Siliguri, BSF resort to aerial fire to deter  smugglers , on hearing  fire shot they fled away taking advantage of foggy weather, officials further stated.
