CBI apprehends a SI from Delhi Police in a bribery case

The Sub Inspector had demanded bribe of Rs, 20,000/ for settling a complaint of harassment lodged against the complainant by a woman

New Delhi, August 20

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended Sub-Inspector from Delhi Police while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant.

The officials stated that a case was registered by CBI on against said Sub Inspector posted at Kalkaji police station on the basis of a complaint. 

It was alleged in the complaint that accused Sub Inspector demanded bribe of Rs, 20,000/ for settling a complaint of harassment lodged against the complainant by a lady. Later, accused agreed to reduce the demanded bribe amount to Rs. 15,000/-.

The CBI laid a trap and accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant and was apprehended, officials further added.
