CBI arrests branch manager of PNB in UP for accepting bribe

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Branch Manager and a Field Officer, both working in Punjab National Bank, Khekra in Bagpat of Uttar Pradesh for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.25,000.
The CBI had received a complaint against a Branch Manager and a Field Officer, both of Punjab National Bank, Khekra, Bagpat(Uttar Pradesh). It was alleged that the complainant was having KCC account, jointly in his name and in the name of his grandfather in Punjab National Bank, Khekra, Bagpat.
It was further stated that an amount of Rs.4.95 lakh was sanctioned in the said KCC account and the same was disbursed in the saving bank account. An amount of Rs.50,000/- in the said saving bank was put on hold by the Branch Manager. When the complainant inquired about the same from Branch Manager and Field Officer, both demanded an alleged bribe of Rs. 25000.
The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the complainant. The agency also conducted searches at the premises of both the accused.
