CBI books pvt person of FCI, public servants for misappropriation of funds of Rs. 96 lakhs

Accused handling contractor of FCI and owner of Godown-I, Giridih misappropriated 3000 bags of wheat and 2800 bags of rice having total value Rs. 96 39 lakhs at PEG Suriya Godown-I

New Delhi, September 6

Thr Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against accused a handling contractor and unknown government officials for creating Food Corporation of India in Ranchi. 

The CbI has booked a private person of FCI  who is owner/investor of PEG (Private Entrepreneurship Guarantee) Suriya Godown-I, Giridih.

The agency received a complaint from  General Manager (Region), Food Corporation of India, Ranchi and notifications issued by Govt of Jharkhand and Govt of India. 

It was alleged that  accused  handling contractor of FCI and owner of Godown-I, Giridih, in criminal conspiracy with other persons misappropriated 3000 bags of wheat and 2800 bags of rice having total value Rs. 96 39 lakhs at PEG Suriya Godown-I.

Thr CBI conducted searches at  the residential premises  of accused in Giridih (Jharkhand) which led to recovery of incriminating  documents related to FCI, property details, bank account details,  agreements, etc.
