New Delhi, November 22
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a disproportionate assets case against an accused against a section engineer in Patna.
The CBI had received a complaint on the basis of communication received from SP Buxar alleging that during the course of police patrolling, a four wheeler was intercepted at the toll plaza Dalsagar. The person concerned who was sitting in the said vehicle was said accused, Sr. Section Engineer.
During the search of the personal belongings of said accused, a jeans trouser was found which contained small gunny bag with eight gold bars, each of 100 gram of 99.50 fine gold with total weight of 800 grams were recovered, officials said.
The accused could not produce receipt/ voucher for having purchased the same and nor could he explain the possession of the same. The vehicle along with the driver and accused were taken to a local police station.
The agency also conducted at the premises of accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents etc.
